Simon Belmont seems like a real nice guy, but his prices are a bit unrealistic. I don't just mean, I cant afford the items I would like to pick up from him (which is true it seems) but, I mean that based on my own experiences in the market place, his prices seem unnecessarily inflated. NES protos =$$$$, but that isn't always the case with other systems like genesis and gameboy. I don't want to rob the guy, I just want a fair deal.
Again , I mean no disrespect to S.B., the guy obviously knows how to assemble a fist rate game collection. |

Why I ask this...How does someone end up with so many prototypes ???
All I can think of -- you'd better be affiliated with a gaming publication. Game companies have press firms and they'd take care of the media by providing them with picture slides, press releases, and even EPROMS. Some game companies even asked for their EPROMS back when the review is completed. Nonetheless, immaculate collection

I think price ranges would help. With this kind of thing, you would probably get more interest if you said "Gameboy prototypes: (range $50-$500)".
But I find that most people (myself included) with lots of prototype stuff aren't super motivated to sell. Generally we paid a lot for at least some of the wares and taking bottom end prices doesn't motivate. I would be interested but I've already blown my wad on Tempest's 5200 collection. I would love to buy more, but I would have to work a few weekends to do it, and my kids will begin to forget who I am if I do that
