I think it's been years since I featured any auctions by toy customizer Jin Saotome. This is is a doozy, awesome, but very weird. He has a gatling gun cannon. What game was that from?

This prototype figure was shown off in the Toy Fair in 2000, along with several other Nintendo prototype figures in the Nintendo line, like a Metal Mario, a Fox McCloud from Starfox, and Donkey Kong 64 figures. Toysite was responsible for several of the later BD&A Mario plushes that did release in 1999. This figure line was canceled when Toysite was shut down (BD&A no longer funded the branch), and the prototypes were sold on ebay in 2001.

It is a very fragile figure, as it was not meant to be handled or really even produced, so you'll notice it has cheaper paints on it and some of the design had yet to be finalized, like the backpack. This is for display only and not for handling. The feature this figure was to have was a push button on the backpack that flapped Kaoozie's wings. It still works on this figure.

These twelve figured were released last year sometime in June. The 30mm figures are based off of the likeness of numerous classic series characters, and another Series was planned but has not shown up yet. MegaHouse released the figures in a "trade" manner; in other words, you needed to purchase them at random. From what I can tell these are sold out everywhere that carried them. Theyère cute little figures, and Airman is definately my favorite.

Segata Sanshiro is a fictional character created by Sega to advertise the Sega Saturn in Japan between 1997 and 1998. He's like Chuck Norris, except more hadcore.

Sanshiro lives as a hermit high on a mountain, devoting his life to intensive Sega Saturn training. He trains physically every day by carrying around a giant Sega Saturn on his back and punching buttons on its giant controller, as well as mentally by breaking stacks of blocks with his head. His intense training has resulted in his ability to make people explode twice by throwing them, which he does with ease. He also frequently visits the city to seek out people who are not playing the Sega Saturn, and harshly teaches them a lesson. Sanshiro is a serious man with a firm sense of duty, who believes that playing video games is one of the most treasured activities in life.

The Segata Sanshiro campaign is often cited as one of the major reasons for the success of the Sega Saturn in Japan. It's a small surprise that a lot of merchandise featuring him. There was even a best selling Music CD.

Anyways, one seller has Boxed Sega Saturn Segata Sanshiro Action Figure and a Sega Saturn Segata Sanshiro VHS Tape with Commercials.

This Skylanders figure is only available in a Frito Lay's Exclusive Contest with their twenty bag Flavor Mix pack. Within each pack was a Skylander game card that allowed you to possibly win the limited edition Stump Smash by entering the a code online. Only 7,334 of these were up for grabs.

The figure will be flocked, which means it will have a soft velvet type feel. These prizes haven't even shipped yet, so the sellers are selling them as pre-orders.

The first one up went for only $51.00, but the latest ended up selling for $177.50.

These are pretty cool and Ive never seen them before. Anyone know if there are other characters like these? The auction makes it sound like there were other franchises.

It is hard to say if the popularity of Skylanders will continue, or in the current firgures will be of any value if they spawn some sort of sequel. I do know however, that my son loves the game and the company would be insane to not continue with the franchise.

There is an interesting auction up right now for this Skylanders Trigger Happy E3 Pre-Release Version. (Thanks J!) No idea how rare it is, or what the value is, but I cannot find a completed auction for it. Could be interesting to watch given what the chase figures sell for.
