Ok I’ve been on here for a while and I still don’t know what a debugger is. There is a lot of lingo that doesn’t make sense to me here. Also I keep hearing of this “Dolphin” system. What do all of these things do? Test games?
A debugger is just that. It is a system that is running code that is not yet finalized so the developers/testers can test the game to see if its working properly. The systems are different from retail systems as they can play burned games (since the devs just burn copies of what they are working on and can then slap them into the system to try out).
A “Dolphin” system is the development name for the GameCube and its testing equiptment.
Ahhhh….I see. Thanks for the info Papa. I gotta admit it’s not my field of interest but still good to know. Why would people want to buy debuggers anyways? Collection?
Collection, playing samples that can’t be played on retail systems, developing games at home. Usually debuggers have more features than the retail version.
In my case I just like the blue colour of my Debugging PS1. The green one is nice too.
It’s nice to see another Navi on eBay. It’s in slightly better condition than mine (plus it has the TV adapter). It will be interesting to see if it can sell at that price.
@ Jeremy
I’ve got 3 PS debuggers (all 3 us models). I got them so I could play the protos/betas that i’ve got with out having to mod a system.
