Famicom Punch Out Gold Prize

Written by Link on 4th February, 2009

NINTENDO FAMICOM GOLD PUNCH OUT PRIZE CART The gold Punch-Out!! Special cartridge was given out as a prize during the Nintendo Famicom Golf US competition. This version of Punch-Out!! was actually the very first release of the game and has some differences from the retail release, including wording, color, and music variations. There's not even a final bout, the game ends after you defeat Super Macho Man.

Apparently there were 10,00 of these released. 5,000 for high scorers in the contest, 1,000 randomly to people who scored a hole in one in the contest and the last 4,000 randomly to those with certain numbers on their ranking.

I can't remember what these normally fetch, anyone happen to know off hand?

Im not sure what they are worth nowadays, last one I saw on ebay quite a few years ago sold for somewhere around 500ish.

I will certainly be bidding ^-^

Seller sent me high resolution pics of the cart and I’ve never seen on in such immaculate condition. I have one currently in my collection, but I’m bidding on this one for sure!

These generally don’t sell for more than $300-$400 or so. That is usually for a nice copy.

This is missing the letter and the box/manual appear to be in meh shape.

Actually it really does depend, most of the ones I have seen, the carts are on the brink of falling apart from the ravaging they have endured. This one seems to be pristine from the pics the seller emailed. Also it appears that the letter is included, seems that the manual is the only missing piece. I give this a 7/10. Should go for a decent amount.
