Early Master System

Written by Nicola on 1st December, 2008

Prototype-V1 1986 Sega Master System

Is this thing really an early prerelease version?

EDIT: even if the seller states this might be a prototype, it looks just like a standard Master System to all of us...

Other stuff:
NINTENDO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP POWERFEST 1990 INSIDER GUIDE
Raiden Promo Atari Lynx Boxed
Official Xbox Hardware Refresh Test Disc
Infant Development System
Arcade Board Prototype or just random EPROM Chips by American Technos
Italian Vectrex Boxed!

The snail maze thing doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a proto. The snail maze was actually on retail units.

I actually had a SMS with the snail maze game built in. That song drove me nuts. Too bad our UK brethren missed out on that. :)

I think when that Infant Development System says development, it’s more for developing an infant’s learning ability, not that it’s a development system for new games. :) That’s my take on it at least.

LOL @ portnoyd: it was a joke! I’m always finding “child’s dev systems” during some kind of searches and I’ve finally decided to add one of those to the finds. I’m always finding gay artworks too when I’m looking for video game related art…

It’s not the Snail Maze. It was in every SMS here around. It’s the description that made me feature the system.

This is a standard first release SMS1. I have about 10 of these cluttering up the place. They usually came with a loose Hang On card in the package. I think you should put a note up on your site here before anyone starts bidding on this.

Thats just a standard model 1 SMS. But if it sells for big money i’ll be listing a dozen the week after!!!

Then let’s make this one the most expensive loose SMS ever!
