Manufacturing the chips and the carts usually took 2-2.5 months, which would coincide with the date on the cart.

On a disc from Sega (that has copies of final ROMs), I have G-AXE1.BIN dated Nov 22, 1989. While that isn&#039;t October, it&#039;s some kind of after-final build that never got manufactured into a cart (G-AXE had REV 00 and REV 01 in cart form). Both of the released revisions are from October.
