Umm, if the copyright owner will burn you a CD for $30, why would I pay this guy $1000 for the same thing? I don’t get it.
Errr, yeah, I fail to see how this is any different from what is being sold on that site for $30.
*shrug* Maybe the seller is hoping for a moron buyer. Never underestimate the number of those on eBay.
Agreed. I’m hoping a Jaguar collector can chime in.
This is the same thing you can buy on the developer’s site for $30 and frankly, it has been widely available from other sources for a long time now. I’m not sure why this guy thinks his CD-R is worth more than everyone else’s, but this auction should not be as prominently featured on this site as it is.
bojay1997, thanks for clearing that up. I had a feeling that might be the end result, and was hoping someone like yourself would chime in.
Hey folks. I’m the “developer” of Black ICE, in that I was the producer/lead writer/lead artist at Atari Corp., and siezed ownership of the IP when Atari gave up it’s last breath. Yes, I sell discs at my website, and yes, it’s exactly the same thing that the jerk on eBay was *grossly* misprepresenting. It’s not that rare at all.
I used to make the game available as a free download, but the moment that went out, suddenly eBay was flooded with idiots like that trying to make it sound like they had some one-of-a-kind treasure and asking for obscene amounts of money. Now that I sell it, at least I can underprice these crooks and keep the unfinished game available at a reasonable price.
B.J,
Thanks for the clarification!
