The seller was indeed being harassed. Long story short: This was listed before under a different user name with a BIN of $4000; someone from NintendoAge BINed it shortly after it was put up for auction. The seller contacted him shortly after and said he couldn’t sell it to him and then relisted it with a $6000 starting bid. Obviously, after the original auction ended, other parties e-mailed the seller offering a higher amount which made the seller neg out on the original auction. After being sent a bunch of hate e-mails the seller messaged the original buyer and said they would work something out and closed the 6k starting bid auction. Then they made up a bunch of excuses why they couldn’t sell it, waited a little while and relisted it under this name. So a bunch of people are still upset that the original buyer didn’t get the game and decided to harass the seller and try to ruin the auction.
Aaaahh, that makes sense. I just read the auction description and it quickly devolved into bitterness. I had no idea what the story was. Sounds like the seller deserved to be harassed.
But yes, the seller has an obligation to sell at the agreed price, just as the buyer has an obligation to pay upon winning. Them’s the rules.
Relisting at $6000 is greed, pure and simple.
I mean, if you’re going to be smart about it, secure the $6000 before you refuse the $4000.
I sell a lot on ebay and would never pull a stunt like that. We don’t need ebay sellers who abuse the system and “blame the victim”

I was the one selling this game. I am a woman and it was never legally the original listers game to sell. He is my ex husband and I was awarded the whole game collection. It is in my basement. Why he tried selling it…I don’t know since it wasn’t his to sell. I think he thought I would be nice and give it to him. I have this game pure and simple and I only listed it again because I saw what it was worth to collectors and I have two kids and could use the money. I knew when we bought it for $1800 in 2002 that it would appreciate but never knew how much. I am not a collector at all and want to sell of the entire collection. I know people don’t believe me and that is fine. I probably wouldn’t believe it because I’m sure it seems shady. Just wanted to put my imput in since I see people are talking about this here and there on the internet. Just doing research to see what’s it’s really worth. I may relist with only preapproved bidders. There are alot of people out there that seem sweet and legit.
The Stadium events got cancelled. I wonder if it was fake or if the seller was truly being harrassed as she states.
