From what I understand the Vectorcade was a high-quality arcade style, Digital Joystick (not analog) produced back in 2002. The custom controller apparently works extremely well and also looks amazing.
No more than fifty of these were made, and each one was custom crafted to certain specifications. Each Vectorcade has serial #00-50, the owner’s name, the color combination name, product name, completion date, and the creator’s signature on a custom plate. The controls and physical characteristics of each unit are the same (except from the color combinations which you could choose), with the exception of the joystick location which could be special ordered on the right side instead of the left.
They originally retailed for $120.00 and have become somewhat of a holy grail amongst Vectrex collectors.
In the end Brett only made half of the promised amount. His prototype version now resides in my hands… anyhow his words from RGV…
“Yes I believe there were 26 numbered units and one special edition unit that was sold at Philly Classic 3. I also sold my prototype unit with it’s mould. I had one housing left that I turned into a wireless MAME controller. It’s pretty kick ass - but it doesn’t plug into the Vectrex so that kind of stinks. I put a 4 way Pacman style joystick in the wireless one.
Frankly it took so long to complete the 26 units that I just had to stop taking orders. I originally was going to make 50 of them. Not a small task. I probably had more time into the development of everything though than in actually churning out units - which is the really sad part. However - now they are even more collectible apparently.”
So there are only 26 copies in existence? It’s too bad that the project went unfinished. Can you verify these quotes with a link or some other source material?

Not sure I can link to the thread directly here, but use Google Groups for rec.games.vectrex and look at the recent “Vectorcade” thread. Brett himself (the creator of the Vectorcade) posts what I quoted above and more.
