The whole, not being allowed to use it in competitions, is pretty lame. I really don’t understand that request. Unless the competitions specifically say that you have to be the maker of the costume. Then I could see the problem there.
Once you purchase it you can do whatever you want with it, IMO.
The seller just killed most of their business by putting that line in the auction.
I had to specified that you cannot enter the costume in any other cosplay contests at all because; for any cosplay contest, you have to be the ORIGINAL creator; it has to be your design; and you have to explain how you buit it and from what. Believe me, I take pride on my work and I dont think the 2 and a half months I’ve spend making the costume should be taken away from me by someone else claiming they made the costume. It’s like someone taking credit for “The last supper” or any other piece of artwork. It’s not about ownership, but it is more about the pride of my work that should be respected.
I had fun making the custume so I think I’m going to make a better one.
