More DS Promo Carts

Written by Link on 26th March, 2008

These seem to be a hot commodity these days and are fetching pretty decent prices. eBay seller putermcgee has currently has five available:

Metoes

nintendo ds meteos demo

Kirby Canvas Curse

nintendo ds kirby canvas curse demo
Pac Pix

nintendo ds pac pix demo

Wario Ware Touched (European)

nintendo ds demo wario ware touched

And lastly, the Nintendogs Download/Relay Version.

This seems to one of the more common demos that show up.

nindeno ds nintendogs bark mode demo

This is a kiosk promo found in store displays and during the Halloween holiday people could come into the store and set their Nintendogs game to “Bark Mode” to receive a special gift for their dog!

The seller says that this cart was never used, so the counter on the ‘game’ is still zero. For some reason, I remember another auction stating that the first person to link up received a one time special gift that was only available to the first person. I can’t seem to confirm that however.

Unrelated question: How do go back and see posts on the blog from previous days? There’s no ‘previous entry’ button at the bottom of the page like other blogs… And the searches on the side don’t seem to work well (I’m trying to find the post about the Gold Pong Atari trophy from a couple of days ago…) I’ve found the link in my history, but how do I get to it from the website?

‘Back’ and ‘Next’ buttons would be a very nice addition… :)

I’m glad i’ve got all those Demo carts, posting them to the front page only makes them more expensive for me if theres one I actually need.

    @ Rik1138
Click on the archives for the month you are interested in on the side of the page, then scroll to the bottom, of the first page of posts, you can then see older posts by clicking on the ‘previous’ posts link.

thanks for the link. is the nintendogs really fairly common? i can never find any when i search for them. maybe i just look on the wrong days. i’m gonna look into this relay cart a little more to see about that special present for the first downloader.

If memory serves its a pair of sunglasses that are given to you by Haley Duff (Hillary Duff’s sister), after that its suppose to be whatever item was traded to the Base Station dog to get whatever item was there before.

From what i’m seeing the DS demos are pretty uncommon overall, however the Relay Station seems to pop up quite a bit. Just pay attention to the ID number on the label, there seems to be alot of -EUR ones that make it onto ebay and that could screw up a collection if your only looking for -USA games.

rik1138 - That’s been on my to do list for ages. Hopefully get it done this week.

Stu - What ones do you need that you’ve actually seen before?

McGee - That’s my opinion. It seems to show up more than the others, but I haven’t been watching is as closely as say, PapaStu has been

I would love to find an electroplankton demo. I’m guessing that if one exists that it is probably the rarest of them all. I did fairly well off of the Advance Wars demo that I had few months back. I hope that the seller does well.

In my opinion, however, Wario Ware Touched seems to be the most common. I have seen about a dozen of them on ebay in the past 6 months.

Link: I’ve got 16 DS Demos with a few more on the way from Dangerboy. Be it the full game w/ sticker on the back, or ones that actually have a Not For Resale notation on the labels.

In regards to needs I don’t have that do exist
    Big Brain Academy
Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day!
    Brain Age 2
    Children of Mana
    Diddy Kong Racing DS
    Elite Beat Agents
    Kirby: Squeak Squad
    Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
    Mario Party DS
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team
    Super Mario 64 DS
    Tenchu: Dark Sercet
    Tetris DS
    Wario: Master of Disguise
    Yoshi’s Island DS

Any Download Station after 6 (so 6 and 7 for sure)

I think there are a few other DS demos that i’ve seen in stores that havn’t made it onto that list (the one with Naruto for example)

puterMcGee: i would say all the games are not very rare. But i think you will get enough money for them. The prices for nds demos are very high at the moment on ebay.
    And thats a problem i think :D
    A problem for real collectors.
I have a colletion of over 60 demos and promos from us and europe and its very hard to be up to date.
PapaStu: You think Dangerboy have some newer demos for me too? :D

  9. jd on April 10th, 2008 6:33 am

Phenexos: Yes you are right. Some people go crazy with the money on the that demo carts.

PapaStu: You can visit my web for a decent list of know demo carts. I list everyone which is actually be proven to exist. Dumped or the picture of the cart exist.
